Hey there friends and family and people of all ages. My name is 'Drizzy' (Drew and Lizzy). Here in Cochabamba(Drew's 4th time, my 1st) chilling in our pjs listening to the blues, we are reflecting on our trip so far. Parents you don't need to fret because I, Lizzy was not allowed to use sharp tools but Drew was! He is thirteen years old and really cool and knows a lot. Today I was with the lovely girls where I got to paint nails and make friendship bracelets - which was a joy to do. Drew was at the boys home and he was doing yard work - like weeding and cutting the grass. Then he put temporary tattoos on and all the kids wanted a ton. After lunch the boys and girls all got together and we got to see el Cristo(the largest Jesus statue). That was my personal favorite part of the day because I got to be around the love of my life, Tomas.. He is about one year old, and he is an absolute joy. He came from a really bad situation, but was brought in to Ninos and has been learning to be the best kid he can be. He loves to be picked up, and he loves to hold your finger with his tiny hands. When you do something that he doesn't expect but likes, he lights the room (and my heart) up like a Christmas trees. Like I said, he is the love of my life, and I can't wait to see where God takes him.
Drew said that one of the hardest things he's noticed on this trip is when we went a state run home for kids 5 and up, there were glass everywhere on the floor. While he was tiptoeing around the glass, a kid was running barefoot and jumping over the glass. It had him worried of what could happen.
This week has so far been filled with laughter and tears, and we are so excited to see how the rest of the trip goes!
With love,
Drew Fortin and Lizzy Blake
Ps. I will be coming back with a few kids-lizzy
